Features
Everything the wall does.
Nothing on this page is a roadmap item. It all ships today, and it all runs on a controller sitting in your own house.
The wall
Lighting the rack
Every mode below drives the same strip of addressable LEDs running along your rack rails — one addressable position per column.
- Locate
- Tap any wine and a light breathes over the exact column holding it. Colour follows the wine type: red, white, rosé, sparkling, dessert. Locate lights auto-off after 60 seconds so nothing stays on by accident.
- Light by grape
- One tap lights every Pinot Noir on the wall. Or every Nebbiolo, every Riesling — whatever the catalog knows about.
- Light by pairing
- Dinner is red meat. Tap it, and every bottle that goes with red meat lights up at once.
- Light by country — with flags
- Tap France and the wall waves the tricolore in LEDs across the rack. Every country with a flag simple enough to render gets one.
- Drink-window heat map
- The whole wall at once: green for drink now, amber for soon, red for past peak, blue for still sleeping. The fastest cellar triage there is.
- Roulette
- The light races the rack, slows, and stops on one bottle. Tonight’s decision, made.
- Flights
- Build a tasting order and the wall pulses through it, bottle by bottle, in the sequence you intended.
- Decant timer
- Start the timer and the wall fills as the wine breathes. You can read it from across the room.
- Ambient mode
- No task, no lookup — the rack is simply a very good light fixture, slowly shifting through cellar colours.
- Test every light
- A rainbow sweep across the whole wall, one tap in the Lights tab — the two-second answer to “did every LED survive that rewire?”
- Section tests
- Light one rack section at a time, from Settings, to calibrate the slot map until every column answers to its name.
The catalog
Knowing what you own
The catalog lives on the controller. The app is a window onto it, not a copy of it.
- Full wine records
- Producer, vintage, varietal, region, colour, price, food pairings, drinking windows, and bottle counts — both stocked and unallocated.
- Wall map to scale
- A drawing of your actual rack — sections, columns, bins, trays — not a generic grid. Tap a column to see what’s in it.
- NFC tap-to-stock
- Arm a wine, then tap tags along the rack to shelve bottles one after another. A case goes away without a single screen touch.
- Tap-to-inspect
- Tap any tag to see what’s in that column, drink a bottle from it, or move it back to the unallocated pool.
- Journal & ratings
- Rate what you drank while the glass is still in your hand. The journal remembers what you thought last time.
- Shopping list
- Keep a running list of bottles worth buying again, built from the journal.
- Stat cards
- Stocked, unstocked, and owned counts, plus current cellar value.
- Backup, restore, CSV export
- The entire catalog, in a file, whenever you want it. It’s your data.
- Demo cellar
- A complete sample cellar is built in. Explore every feature above before you own any hardware.
The rest of the house
It doesn’t stop at the rack
The controller is a good citizen on a home network, which makes it easy to wire into whatever else you run.
- Pour announcements
- Open a bottle and a webhook fires the moment it’s logged. Point it anywhere. In the reference install it drives a split-flap display running a four-act show — what was opened, where it came from, what to eat with it, and a send-off.
- Alexa voice control
- Ask out loud and the wall answers. It works through a local Hue-bridge shim, so there’s still no cloud account in the path.
- Read-only state API
- A single JSON endpoint exposes the slot map, the catalog, pour history, and the current time. Everything else you might want to build hangs off that.
- Embedded web app
- The controller serves a full-featured web app itself — same five tabs as the phone: Wines, Wall, Lights, Journal, Settings. Add it to your home screen and it opens full-screen, no browser chrome, like it was always an app.
- Native iOS app
- A proper native app with NFC, offline catalog browsing, and the demo cellar. Free, on TestFlight now, App Store in October 2026.
